Construction Site Accidents

If you work on or walk through construction sites, you understand the inherent danger of those sites. There are many hazards, and each hazard has its own unique set of laws and evidence required to prove your case. If you go to a personal injury attorney, make sure he or she has the experience to handle your particular situation. Or, if you want to be assured that your attorney has the necessary experience, contact our Legal Lions at the INJURY LAW GROUP We have over 150 years of combined experience in personal injury law. Also, our team approach, based on a “pride” of lions, allows us to utilize everyone in our office and on our staff to make sure we have covered the necessary bases. This is especially crucial in construction site cases where so many different things can happen.

Loading/Unloading Accidents

On many sites, construction goods are constantly being loaded and unloaded. Accidents and injuries that can result include slips and falls, back injuries, crushed limbs, amputations, spinal injuries and other serious personal injuries.

Electric Shocks

Often, construction sites require electric cable to be above-ground and in the open. These cables can result in electric shocks that cause severe burns and even brain damage.

Products Liability

The equipment or products used on construction sites can be defective. Defective products can cause horrendous personal injury from:

  • A design defect that existed before the product was manufactured, or
  • A manufacturing defect that happened while the product was being produced, or
  • A marketing defect that arose from improper instructions or failures to warn.

Heavy Equipment

Bulldozers, cranes and other heavy equipment are common on construction sites. The sheer size and power of this equipment can result in shocking injuries if something goes wrong. Severed limbs, paralysis and even death are not uncommon in accidents involving such powerful machinery.

If you have been injured on a construction site, do not risk your case with an unproven attorney. You need a team of attorneys to fight for you, and make sure you get the compensation you deserve. You need our Legal Lions – proven Michigan construction site accident attorneys.

Q: I've been hurt in an accident and I want to file a claim for my injuries. What's the first thing I should do?

A: There are a number of things you can do in the first few days and weeks after an accident to protect your right to compensation, such as:

1) write down as much as you can about the accident itself, your injuries and any other losses (such as wages) you've suffered as a result of the accident;

2) make notes of conversations that you have with people involved in the accident or the injury claim;

3) preserve evidence of who caused the accident and what damage was done by collecting physical evidence and taking photographs;

4) locate people who witnessed the accident and who might be able to help you prove your case;

5) notify anyone you think might be responsible for the accident of your intention to file a claim for your injuries, especially if a government agency or employee may be involved; and

6) contact a personal injury attorney to evaluate and pursue your claim.
