Dog Bites
Here at the INJURY LAW GROUP, our Legal Lions are seeing an ever-growing number of cases resulting from dog attacks, dog bites and dog jumps. The injuries we are seeing can be incredibly severe. Our Legal Lions have dealt with cases of severe scarring, broken bones from falls and severe blood loss. We are recognized as accomplished Michigan dog bite attorneys.
Dangerous Breeds and Dangerous Owners
Most dogs and dog owners are harmless. There are some dog owners, however, who have particular breeds of dog because they are fashionable. Currently, fashionable breeds include pit bulls, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, bull terriers and Dobermans. The problem with people who own dogs merely because they are fashionable is that they often do not know how to train them. If the dogs are fashionable because they are seen as tough, the owners can actually worsen the problem by making the dogs more aggressive. Some of the dog attacks we have seen from these breeds have resulted in horrendous scarring and have necessitated major plastic surgery.
Other problems with training can be more benign. Some dogs are simply not trained to keep from jumping on people. If a dog is large enough to knock you down, broken bones and soft tissue injuries can result.
Our Legal Lions Can Help You Get Compensation
Some people do not consider whether they have a remedy for their injuries because the injuries were caused by an animal. Nevertheless, in many instances, a dog owner is responsible for his or her dog. The most common method of recovery in these cases is homeowner’s insurance coverage. A dog is a hazard in a home, and if a dog injures you, you have legal recourse.
